I'm basically a newbie. I've tried my 12" LX200 about 8 times now, and =
the last three times I tried a rudimentary collimation. Tonight I =
tweaked the heck out of it as described on the collimation website =
listed in the mapug archive there. =20
WOW! Time well spent is not an adequate description! It's like having =
a new scope! I was actually somewhat lukewarm with the whole deal =
(wondering if the 4 Kilodollars could have been spent just a bit better =
and all) but I'm happy now! I've got textbook diffraction rings when I =
de-focus and I saw the Airy discs, etc. COOL!!!. Double Double is =
spread enough to be four totally independent stars with ample black =
space between the two in each pair with the 6.4mm eyepiece I received =
today from Meade. (My bonus eyepiece package) I threw in a Tele Vue =
barlow and spread them out even further. =20
THANKS MEADE!!! Customer service was GREAT (I had to replace the Dec =
motor assembly) and the scope is fantastic! And thanks to all of you =
folks here that help out with the little (big) things!
Uh, knock on wood... hehe,
- GLupien
