While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Bruce,

> what is the THICKNESS or WIDTH of the two bearings?? They may well only come
in one or two widths, but I'm not sure.

The bearing numbers will indicate the series (thickness and OD/ID
dimensions) as well as the type of seal (steel or neoprene) - these are the
four digit code and alpha code on the bearing. The 6013 RSR sounds like a
typical bearing number, and ought to be easily cross-referenced. The R20 2RS
HX is not a type of number I've seen before.

Doc, if you're monitoring, please post the name of the manufacturer of that
bearing - this is sometimes needed to cross-reference the bearing number to
a standard stock model.

Besides the bearing houses, if you run into difficulty finding one of them,
also look in the Industrial Supply section of the Yellow Pages. I've often
found some of those more obscure items through them. Belt and conveyor
vendors also often carry a good supply of bearings.

Good hunting!

-Doug
