While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Thanks everyone who replied. I'll take the advice and apply it tonight.

Possibly the long RA format is active but then I can check that via the Gr# statement by printing the full INPUT$.
regarding the use of # and : I don't have a feel for their functions..

I'll come back and report on the findings and possibly come with new requests..
