While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Thanks for your offer. Bostjan.

I confess I have been using the off-axis tube for all this, so that may be
part of my problem to start. I center the brightest star I can find with my
reticle eyepiece (note, I did use Altair as one of the stars as a test).
Then I insert the 201 and let it take the dark frame, and then look for a
star. It alwasy displays "00" for brightness. I will gradually move the 201
out, about a mm at a time - all with the same result. I will also attach an
eyepiece extension to the 201 and try to see if that will help focus it, but
at no point does it achieve focus.

So, that's my problem. Tonight looks to be relatively clear, so I may try
again.

Any thoughts?

Mike

Hi again Mike!

Can you please describe your problem more specifically? Why can't you
achieve focus? Does the 201 find a star in search mode? Does it
display intensity in Focus mode?

It is a good idea to try to focus the 201 on the SLR camera position
first (not off axis) as in the centre of the field of the telescope
the star images are much sharper.

I would be glad to help you, because I remember the frustration I
proved when something didn't work :-((

Waiting to hear from you.

Regards,

Bostjan
