While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi all,

I've recently had the problem of the RA gears slipping when weight is added
to the scope. It works fine while viewing and slewing to objects without
weight, with just an eyepiece. As soon as I add a camera or any extra
weight, it just don't work no more.....

I saw in the archive a post mentioning replacing the spring that holds the
worm gears firmly up against the RA gear. From looking at the inside of the
scope, this looks like it might do the trick, but I wanted to see if anyone
else has seen this before.

Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated......

Thanks.........
Mark
