While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I have an annoying problem with the Meade DeLuxe wedge that I just bought
for my 8in LX200.
I just cannot set it up properly.

According to the installation instructions, the main crossbar of the DLA
(deluxe latitude adjuster) is supposed to come already installed. But it is
here strangely placed at the upper holes of the wedge,
which are normally used for the tilt plate attachment knobs. Is this normal
? Were must the DLA crossbar be placed ? I thought the crossbar should be on
the latitude scale, at about 10 degrees
as shown in fig 1 of the installation instructions.

Next, it seems that the crossbar is screwed very tightly, and I cannot
remove it. I envisaged to
displace it by using the supplied hex allen key but could not (I did not
insist to avoid the risk of damaging
the screws; it even seems to me that one of the screws is slightly damaged
already).

I am looking for hints.

Pierre
