[M]: (M) LX200 sidereal clock problem

Subject:[M]: (M) LX200 sidereal clock problem

I have a 10" lx200 and use it with Sky Map Pro7 software.
I believe there may be a problem with the scopes sidereal clock which does
not change. Looking at the hand controller the normal local time clock
ticks away as normal but the sidereal clock is stuck unless I do a manual
change of local time then the sidereal clock changes but then does not alter
after that.
By contrast when using the scope, and having done a 2 star alignment, locked
onto a target star etc, the scope appears to track ok but the RA time as
shown on the hand controller is incrementing, when I thought it should be
fixed. (The Dec IS fixed)
Is this due to the sidereal clock not working? If so does anyone know which
is the offending component and its location?
The thing that drew my attention to this is that when using Sky Map the
cursor that shows where the scope is pointing drifts away from the object at
a steady rate relative to the RA time as displayed on the lap top screen.

I am fairly new to all this, so any help would be appreciated
