While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I just got done doing a declination bearing modification. After putting
everything back together, I tried a polar alignment in my garage during
the day. After zeroing the Dec & RA, the scope should slew to Polaris
but only the RA motor moves. Using the keypad, I can move the Dec, or
turn the manual knob on Dec, to an estimated (daytime) Polaris. I then
have it slew to my second star (Regulas) and both motors seem to work
fine. Tell it to go to star - Castor, and both motors move. It is just
the initial Polaris move that the Dec. motor doesn't work. Does anyone
have a suggestion or solution.
Thanks in Advance,
Jerry
