The limits are in the software. It won't let you go past +/-90° (depending
on N/S hemisphere) so that the scope wopn't go over backwards and shear of
the finder. But this is as read on the keypad, not the setting circle. The
computer assumes that you powered up at 0°.
If this is a 12", it also won't let it go so low that the tube hits the
base. That's about -/+ 50°. Since it assumes you powered up at 0°, if you
instead start with the scope aimed up between the forks, it won't let you
slew more than about 50° down from there.
