Are you comparing the two at similar magnification? That makes a big
difference in the apparent quality of the view. Higher power will look
blurrier with lower contrast. For a given EP, the f/10 LX200 will give
twice the magnification (or more if it's larger than 8") than your f/5 Newt.
Stick a 2X barlow in your Newt and then use the same EP on both for
comparison.
