The amplification factor will depend on the EP focal length and also on the
distance between the EP and chip (increases with distance). I don't know
the equation, but if the distance is a few inches, probably a moderately low
power EP would be enough to get plenty of magnification. EP projection is
pretty powerful.
The focus, even on a star, won't seem as sharp as it does for deep-sky
images done at prime focus or with a reducer. That's just a matter of
magnification, just as with visual.
