While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi Lance,

I use a Meade #1200 zero-shift focus unit on an LX200 classic - it uses
the same focus socket on the panel and the same controls on the keypad.

My focuser will *not* work in the mode which the telescope is in
immediately after you have "gone-to" an object - pressing "5" plus the
up/down arrows in any slew speed has no effect. *However*, if you press
the "mode" key (after the slew is complete), so you get the
telescope/site menu or the time readout etc, then the focuser works
fine. It's as if the focus facility is deliberately locked out in that
first mode. Give it a try.

Cheers

Nigel
