The motors in the LX200 classic were Mabuchi slot car motors. $10 a dozen.
The motors in the GPS scope are much better. They have an encoder built
into the back and integral gear box on the front. I have not been able to
find out who makes them. They may be small Pittman motors which are fairly
high class as these motors go. I would still guess that they are not more
than a few bucks. Perhaps some GPS owner will tell us what they are one day
soon.
