Knoppix is a Linux CD. Download Knoppix, burn it to a CD, then
when you boot your PC with the Knoppix CD in the drive, you have
Linux running on your PC.

It doesn't modify anything on your PC, so windows still works after you
remove the knoppix CD and reboot your PC.

Kstars (and Knoppix) is pretty impressive.
