While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

So it thinks the scope is tracking, but it also thinks the sky (more
accurately, the earth) is barely moving!
(not quite consistent with your last message, because in this condition it
should think it is pointing further west over time. Maybe you have the The
Sky display mirrored E/W to match the view in the EP?)
I can make sense of the coordinates and celestial mechanics, but my
knowledge of electronics and computers is very limited. The fact that the
sidereal time is very slow, but not actually stopped, is particularly
troublesome, because it means it's probably more than just a loose
connection somewhere (which would more likely stop the sidereal time
altogether). This may be a case for Meade's repair department, or if you'd
rather not have to descend so deep into hell, try
<http://www.telescopeservice.com>.
And go ahead and try a new battery.
