While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

The LX200 is somewhat basic by modern standards. In polar mode, tracking is
accomplished purely by having the RA motor run at a steady speed (+/-PEC
corrections). So all that matters is that the wedge be accurately adjusted
so that the RA axis is aimed at the pole. The computer does not attempt to
correct for polar misalignment errors when tracking, so where the computer
"thinks" the scope is aimed has nothing to do with tracking accuracy.
