Hey all,
I am in the process of building an observatory big enough for my LX200
and my G-11. Before I pour the pier for the LX I want to acquire an
upgraded wedge. I sold the SW and want something that doesn't have the
backlash that the SW had when adjusting polar alignment. I've always
heard of the Mitty, Milburn and Mettler wedges. Strange isn't it, that
when you add in Meade's SW, all these names begin with the letter 'M'.
What are the odds?
I would like to hear any horror stories associated with any of these
designs. Opinions, which is best?
I cannot buy new, I have about $450 to invest here, and that is below
what all these retail for. If any of you has a wedge you want to
donate, let me know.
Thanks,
Alan
