Another confusion..... back when I was doing a lot of technical writing and
used ALT 248 a lot, I discovered that it only worked if you typed the "248"
on the numeric keypad. It did not work if you used the number keys on the
top row of the keyboard. Not sure if it is the same these days..... I'm
using a laptop and it doesn't have the numeric keypad.
