While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I'm not sure I follow- Meade makes at least 3 MA12 EPs: one is a normal
(non-reticle) EP, one has a simple illuminated (double) crosshair, and
one is the "astrometric" reticle EP.
You don't want an astrometric reticle for guiding- the complicated
reticle would just be a distraction.
Some of Meade's non-reticle MA EPs are downright abysmal, and IIRC, the
12 is one of them. I don't know if the il. ret. version is optically
identical to the standard MA12, but the standard is so bad I wouldn't
want to risk it. So I'd get the Plossl, or check other options.
Wireless is nice. But battery powered reticle EPs have a remarkable
talent for turning themselves on when in storage, so reverse one of the
batteries when you put it away.
