While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Check the N/S switch on the base and make sure it is set to "N".

Subject: E/W N/S inversion on LX200 classic
Hi
I recently got our school telescope back from repair. When I switched it on
for the first time the other day, I noticed that the directions seem
reversed.
Using the keypad, I checked the "Reverse E/W" & "Reverse N/S" & was fine.
After sitching the scope off & back on again, it seems that these settings
have not been remebered, as the directions are reverseed again.
This is a real problem, as the 'scope will shortly be operating remotely on
a roof, and I don't want to be going up there everytime we start a observing
session!
Apart from modding our software (*which may not be too difficult), is there
any way to get the keypad to remember the rversed settings?
And more to the point, why are they reversed at all? Did the repairer
forget to eo something when he put the new mainboard in, I wonder?>
Cheers,
Dez Futak
