While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Yes, I am using a wireless router, if you can hard wire your system it would
be better. I have a microwave in the kitchen which is about 20' away and it
causes the link to be lost when ever it is use, hard wire would eliminate
that problem.

Tom,

Do you have a router in your configuration? I've been trying to get my PCs
to communicate using the adhoc mode without using a router - so far without
success.
