Why is it cheating there are 000s of LX200s, Computerised Dobs etc. out
there - Some people in my club have turned their noses up at me using it a
little - however one such person became very very enthuastic when we asked
my to find one of the messiers - I quickly located the object he went away
found it himself and then seemed very very pleased with the Magallen.
On a recent Star Stare I "sold" at least 4 other people on the benefits of
using the Magallen - all C8 users it turned out
> "Once you have the Magellan , after a while youll become very boared

I would like to be able to find things in the sky without computer help -
but as I am still learning the sky why not keep the enthuiasm - and
gradually find things manually or with the Magallens help - I do not know
any astronomers who can find everything in the Magellans database without
the aid of charts/maps/computer software - these all sound like methods of
cheating to me !!
But at the end of the day it is your choice and your money - $500 will buy
some really serious star charts, telrad and Computer software - the choice
is yours.
