While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I also looked at this, having aquired a small trailer (7 x 5 ft).
The trailer I have has reasonable suspension, but I would still not be
happy putting the OTA in there without a lot of extra padding - maybe
even with slings to keep it clear of the bottom and sides. You may be
able to get just the OTA into the towing vehicle, the rest into the
trailer.

Security is an important issue; don't indicate on the trailer what is in
it! and use a lockable hard cover. You can buy independant alarm units
to fit inside which will give potential thieves a fright. Use a lock on
the towing hitch too.
