While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Don,
I didn't pay anything for the kit cause I only owned my NEW lx-200 for 30
days before the RA motor crapped out! Kinda pissed me off. I have to send
the parts back.
Seems to be working fine now. Got it all put backtogether and retrained the
PEC and other things and seems to perform as advertised.
I was also wondering if anyone tried Krytox Vacuum grease on the focusing
mechanism inside the scope. It has a real low vapor pressure. I use it in
the vacuum chambers of the etchers that I work on for Intel....Lam Rainbow
Etchers. Good up to 600 degrees F or -50 degree F. There vapor pressure is
good to about -9 to -14 scale (1.0x10E-9 Torr to 1.0x10E-14 Torr). 760 Torr
is Atmospheric pressure at sea level. These greases shouldn't form any
films on the corrector plate or mirrors.
