Lowell,
The only problems Ive had with keypad operations have been remedied by
using a Dow Corning product called, "4 Electrical Insulating Compound".
Its designed to act as a moisture barrier for electrical contacts. I
use it on the Dec and keypad cable connections and other cable
connections that are fairly simple.
I would be interested if there are any concerns with using this if
anyone has experience with it. A computer-wise friend said he thought it
might not be good to use it on something like a serial or SCSI cable, so
I took his advice. Where the scope is outside year round something like
this seems to be a good idea.
This has worked for me for a couple of years. One tube will probably
last a couple of decades.
Regard,
Eric S
