While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Not sure how typical this is but I measured the voltages on my scope to check compatibility with a non Meade reticle.

Results are :

Open circuit = 5.02V (5V nominal ?)

Equivalent source resistance = 498 Ohm (500 Ohm nominal ?)

Voltage reduces approx 0.5V for each luminance reduction step
