Is it possible that your finder is not always going into the same spot?
This seems to be a VERY common problem with the "as is" finders provided
with Meade scopes.
To solve the sloppy fit problem (if you have one):
Insert your finder, remove the holding screws and with a sharp drill
inserted through the screw holes, mark where the screws would touch the
finder mount.
Remove the finder, drill small indentations where you marked the finder mount.
Now, each time you insert your finder, the screws will find the same
indentations and it should be aligned perfectly.
