Brant, I have a 10" f6.3 and I can give you the exposures I use on various
objects that I think would be good for your scope given that it is also an
f6.3. I use Ektachrome 1600 and get excellant results. You will want to
adjust your exposure times for other ASA ratings (ie 4x exposure for asa 400)
Galaxies - 30 minutes
Open clusters - 10 minutes
Orion nebula - 6 minutes
Horsehead - 30 minutes
Planatary neb - 15 to 20 minutes
These seem to give a good 1st attempt exposure and sometimes you may want to
adjust given relative brightness. For me, maybe 1 in 7 pictures will want to
have an adjustment on 1st time exposure. I have no experience with moon,
planets, or globulars yet. Hope this helps.
