Mike;

Any time a system gets a complex as the LX200 there are more points of failure. The earlier versions may have reflected this to some degree, though it was still a very well perfoming system.

My experience is that the LX200 in it's current version is a very mature, debugged product. I've found mine (I've got two) to perform marvelously. I've had an occasional nit, but Meade has been incredibly responsive. I recently had an electronic problem. I called the customer service line and explained the symptoms. They had my scope back on-line within the week. Great service, Great optics, Great mechanical performance.

p.s. To compare the LX6 with the LX200 is like comparing the original TI hand-held calculator to a Pentium system. <grin>

p.p.s. The above are my opinions, do what you will with them !
