Subject: LX200 12" Dec Drive Help Please

Yesterday the Dec Drive failed due to small aluminum pinnion
loosening (it's the one on the manual knob shaft) from its press fit
on a knurled section of the shaft. I repaired that with a little
"loctite 271" on the shaft which cured overnight and now seems to
have tightened the pinnion bond to the shaft.

However, one of the wires(the blue one) came loose during my work. I
thought I had reattached it correctly but now the dec drive motor
runs continuously on power up, and upon reexamination of the wiring I
I discovered another "un-connected?" wire.

So here is what I have now -- On the hand knob side of the aluminum
"bearing plate" I see what I believe are 2 leds each with 2
terminals. Correct connections for sure (have not been disturbed)
a are white wire(from circuit board) to one led terminal. A black
wire from the circuit board (seems to have two conductors that split
at the leds) one of which connects to the other terminal of the led which
the white wire connects to. The other conductor of the black wire
connects to one of the terminals in the second led.

Now I believe the broken off blue wire should connect to the second
terminal of the second led so I did and this does not solve the
problem. The dec motor still runs continuously on power up.

Now looking opposite these 2 leds on the motor side of the aluminum
block I see 2 more leds. Now for sure I see on the led which is
directly opposed to the one with the above white and black wires a
red wire attached to it. Its other terminal is connected to a short
black (shrink wraped) two conductor wire (lets call this wire "X") which
seems to go nowhere except the other conductor in the shrink wrap (but
its unconnected end seems open) goes to one of the terminals of the
4th led. Another black wire (from the circut board connects to the
second terminal of this 4th led.

Now, is this correct? Or should the wire "X" be connected to
something else --did something I can't find or see break off from it.
Then, if my connections are correct why else would the dec motor run
continuously?

Any suggestions or help here would be much appreciated.
