After owning a C8 for almost ten years, I bought a 10" LX200 and LOVE it. It is about at the limit of portability, however, but worth it. I wouldn't like to carry it too far; in fact, I drag the case across the carpet in my house to the front door, where I enlist the help of my wife to transport it to the car. I have a Pathfinder so I can set up the scope at the rear of the open tailgate, leaving the case inside.

Hope this helps. The 12" is too heavy for one-man operation; I've helped set a couple up.
