That is exactly what I do with my 10, leave it allways on the tripod and
haul it outside. It is heavy and you have to be carefull, but I am 44 years
old, 1.71 meters tall and not very athletic and if I can do it you can.
I have a Celestron 8 wich I can take on field trips. If you plant to move it
around go for the 8.
