HPP mode works only for objects other than planets, and for objects that are not particularly bright - but that said.. I find that with a half decent alignment, which I have become accustomed to doing within about 3 minutes time or so,the accuracy is indeed about 2 arc minutes maybe 3 at worst... and without the high precision - it is usually within 10 or 15..that is pretty darn good, time after time, after time. Many times, the accuracy is even greater. There are a few objects, and a few parts of the sky where this breaks down, but as a rule of thumb, you can be comfortable with the above..
