While on the subject of heaters, I thought I might mention solving a problem that many of you must have, not because of dew, but because of cold itself.
Up here in the freeeeezing cold of Canada (southern Ontario) I frequently had the LCD display of my hand controller become very sluggish and finally disappear on me.
I solved the problem by installing Kendrick's smallest heater (for 1 & 1 1/4 eyepieces) in the key pad. It just fits in behind the LCD display at the top.
A hole was drilled for an RCA jack beside the cord jack at the bottom. The wires from the heater were soldered to it. A tiny bit of extraneous case material had to be removed to accomodate the jack.
A six foot audio cord was fed up through the middle of the coiled cord for the key pad. You can barely tell it's there and there certainly isn't another cord to get in the way.
You simply plug in one or both, depending on the weather. I've never had the problem again. It's one of my better "toys".
