Regretably, if you use all the functions of the Pictor, you will have to give up the RS-232 port. This is used for moasic and motion control. However, I *think* only the ccd cable uses the track function when taking images. There is no documentation about this, as yet. Perhaps Ron Erza from Meade can jump in on this one?

There should be no reason why you couldn't leave the RS-232 out, and use your sky software to remote control the telescope, but giving up the motion calibration etc. I did last week, and it worked fine. My exposures on the 416 were so short, that it didn't require any guiding anyway.

Do you have a wedge? You are going to need it with the 416, I found.
