Good idea. I did it today. Shame I had to waste $200 on it, but there you go. I wouldn't trust the thing again anyway, even if I did fix it.
I've had to by a new charger too, one that can handle 6VDC batterys. With all this, there goes my savings for me 9mm Naglar :-((

You can charge 6 volt batteries with a 22 watt 12 volt car bulb in series with the battery on a 12 volt charger.The bulb limits the current.You are supposed to constant voltage charge lead acid batteries but I have used this method before now only when I have been stuck. Brandon S. Jones
