The attached two questions lead me to believe that you may be misunderstanding the RA smart drive. The RA training and the DEC training are quite different. The DEC training does train out drift, as you suggest. The RA "learn" mode, available on the smaller LX200s, trains around periodic errors in the worm gear. The RA learn mode does not do anything for drift.
