1-star -> 2-star alignment

I have an old version 2.4 lx200 that uses 1-star alignment. I would like to
upgrade to 2-star alignment but dont want to shell out the bucks for version
3.3. Does anyone know what the first versions were that used the 2-star
alignment and if those upgrades are still available?
