I have heard of similar problems with the Celstron radial guider. I had a similar problem with some custom stuff once. What I did was found a shorter barrel from another eyepiece and swaped it with the 12mm, worked great. If you don't have a shorter barrel, there's a device that you can use to make it work.... Go to a a store where they sell tools and stuff, they call it a hardware store. Ask for a guiding eyepiece parfocal-with-the-camera-barrel-shortener.... 'course they will probably know it as a hacksaw!
