The mount will have small amount of metal which will effect the compass.
Remove the compass, adjust the compass declination for your area. Hold the
compass by hand away from any magnetic influence and rough in a alignment of
the scope. I can get mine within the second cirlce of the Telerad everytime,
but it takes practice. Basements in most parts of the country don't have a
good exposure of Polaris, so practice outside....
