Ever since I got my LX, the dewcap has been hard to remove, nearly tearing
my nails out in the process. Any body else have the same trouble? I solved
the problem by putting two handles on it. They are the U-shaped, looking as
if a 3/8" smooth and round dowel had been bent that way, and which could be
used on kitchen cupboards (that was for Robert P. {:-^) .) They stick out
about 1" and have about 3" between screw centers. I mounted them near the
edges parallel to each other. The screws had to shortened a bit because of
the thinness of the metal. The cap must be put on the scope with the
handles side by side as you face the corrector plate, else the handles will
hit the base of the fork mount when the OTA is stowed for transportation.

Hope somebody else can use the idea.
