This sounds to me like the ST-7 is changing guide stars on you. My
experiences have lead me to beleive that it picks the brightest star in the
field as the guide star. If there are two stars of similar brightness in the
field it can get confused and switch to the other star.
Another possible problem is hot pixels at the bottom of the frame. If
your guide star is not very bright the system can get confused as well. I
believe that SBIG has a new ST7.DLL availablel to help with this problem.
Take care,
