Subject: [M]: CCD motion calibration

I=B4m doing my first attempt with a 416XT and my 10" LX200. I connected
the 416 to my note book via SCSI (Adaptec 1460 SCSI-PCMCIA-Adapter is
working fine) and the LX200 via RJ12 serial cable.
Several times I tried to do the "motion calibration" from Pictor View
2.0 without any success. The PC-screen wrote "performing hysteresis" and
on the Pictor control box you can read "searching star...". Nothing
else. I tried it with several stars from mag.1 to mag.8. I think I need
the motion calibration tool for auto-centering which would be fine. The
manual says absolutely nothing about it.
Perhaps there is somebody who solved the problem to help me.
Another question is if once done successfully, is it stored or need I
doing it every time again (when using the same system-configuration)? Do
I need motion calibration for something else as auto-centering?
