Kal,

All that I can tell you is that two fixes were attempted
before our two 12" LX200's were shipped back, [1] the
flat black construction paper tube that Sheldon inserted
into the baffle tube and [2] the flat black paint that
another guy [not Adrian or me in our scopes but a fellow
with a 10" and halo] tried dabbing into the baffle tube.
Neither "fix" worked and, as I said earlier, no one at
Meade would tell either Adrian or me what they had done
to remove the halos. One might suspect that they don't
want Celestron to know. :-)
