Subject: "Poof" Was the Fuse

I'm late getting back - I've had little access to the Net for a couple of weeks.
The "poof" and dead LX that I reported was the power panel fuse and/or the 12 to 18 v converter. I had examined both and saw no damage, but David Piper suggested I test the fuse and sure enough, it was dead. The converter showed 12v output no load and D
On the power panel circuit board, outboard of the battery, the traces had a fair accumulation of green munge. The corrosion appears to have eaten into the traces, but nothing's dead yet. Does anyone know what might have caused this? Moisture in the pr
As an aside, after replacing the fuse, I was dismayed to find the LX couldn't find anything. It would appear that if you pull the the circuit boards out, you kill power to the (I guess) CMOS memory that holds time, date, location, etc. I'll bet the PEC
