I too at 50 checked into the pieces and their weight. I wanted to be =
able to setup/tear down with ease and not have to call for assistance =
everytime I wanted to enjoy the scope. I bought an 8" LX50 (nearly =
the same weights as the LX200s) and am glad I did.

I find I can set up the scope and take it down easily but the weight =
of the main fork and tube are still an effort to not only lift but to =
also raise up to place on the wedge. I only have to carry it 50 feet =
and that is not a problem but the additional "lift" at the end to =
steady it into the slot on the wedge makes me happy with the 8"!
