Last week I received word that our homeowners association had decided to
place 160 watt halogen halide lights throughout our subdivision. How bad are
such lights? How can I stop the light pollution. How near can one be to my
new planned observatory for my 12" Lx2000 without lighting out the horizon
for more than 10 degrees?

Any ideas on how I can convince the homeowners association that such lights
are not needed. What about legal action?
