I had a Taurus system some time back. It works fairly well I agree.
But it is all plastic and quite clumsy to use. I think it looks a
little cheaper than it is but thats a matter of esthetics as much as
functionality I suppose. I managed to get rid of it without too much
fiscal damage. I have a 1 1/4 inch Homeyer flip mirror for my 216XT
guider and it is quite well made. It doesnt have the size and
clearance I like for photography. I use the Van Slyke with the Meade
focal reducer and the CCD. Or just straight through with Canon F1
cameras. This combo is nice and solid and quite easy to use.
Today we have our Madison Astronimical Society annual picnic, clear skys
and beautiful weather.
