Subject: [M]: LX200: clock running fast

Greetings.

I have a Meade 8" LX200, bought in August 1995. The clock runs fast. It
gains about 1 second per day. That doesn't sound very accurate for a 3000
quid telescope, especially when, for example, my watch keeps just about
perfect time for weeks on end. Of course, I can correct it each time I use
the 'scope, but it's a bit of a bore having to do that. I know that many
quartz watches can have their clock rates adjusted by means of a screw
adjuster inside. I once adjusted a fairly cheap digital watch in this way.
Does such an adjuster exist in the LX200 and do instructions exist for
making such an adjustments, or is the clock speed fixed?
