Hi,
I am considering buying an LX200 but I'm concerned about the quality of
Schmidt-Cassegrain optics. A local astronomer tells me he never got a sharp
image from his 10" Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain. A review in Sky & Telescope of
the LX200 Maksutov-Cassegrain gives a similar impression of less than sharp
images from the Schmidt. I'd like to hear what people on this list think of
the optical performance of their Schmidt-Cassesgrains. I hope to eventually
get into CCD photography but I also want to see sharp images through my
telescope.
